Tamim Returns Home After Health Scare

Cricketer Tamim Iqbal, who faced a life-threatening situation on the field, is now on the path to recovery after undergoing a heart stent procedure. On Friday afternoon, he was discharged from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka and returned home. While out of immediate danger, doctors have advised him to take complete rest for an extended period.

However, his recovery journey isn’t over yet. On Saturday, he must return to the hospital for follow-up tests and dental treatment. Additionally, he will remain under 24/7 medical supervision at home.

Following the surgery, the Director General of the Health Directorate stated that Tamim would need at least three months to resume normal activities. Once he recovers from the post-surgery strain, he can gradually begin light movement.

The incident occurred last Monday during a Dhaka Premier League match at BKSP, where Tamim, captaining Mohammedan Sporting Club, suddenly felt chest pain and left the field. After initial treatment at a nearby hospital, his condition worsened while being prepared for airlifting to Dhaka, and he lost consciousness. Immediate medical intervention revealed a severe cardiac issue, requiring emergency stent placement. Quick action by the team’s trainers and doctors saved his life.

The next evening, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital, where he remained under observation before finally being cleared to return home.
