A local Jamaat leader was brutally beaten up in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali over allegations of having an immoral relationship with a housewife. He was rescued and admitted to the Upazila Health Complex with serious injuries in the attack. The incident has created a huge sensation in the area.

The incident took place on Wednesday, July 29, at around 8:30 pm in the Daspara Union area of ​​the upazila. The victim of the beating is Faruk Hossain Pyada, who is the secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami in Ward No. 3 of Daspara Union.

LocResidentsid that some people surrounded Faruk Hossain and detained him for having an immoral relationship with a housewife and at, one point st, started beating him. The incident spread quickly, creating intense tension throughout Daspara.

Upon receiving the news, Jamaat-Shibir workers arrived, rescued Faruk Hossain, and admitted him to the Baufal Upazila Health Complex.

Faruk Hossain, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, has completely denied and rejected all the allegations of immoral relations brought against him. He claims that the attack was planned due to a previous dispute.

He said, “Some of the locals, including Saidul and Parvez, are my former enemies. They deliberately ambushed me. At one stage of the beating, they snatched away my 50,000 taka and a mobile phone. They are spreading false propaganda about immoral relationships to tarnish my reputation.”

Farooq could not give a satisfactory answer to the question of what he was doing in this house with 50,000 taka in his pocket at this time.

At the same time, stating that Farooq’s claim is completely baseless, the housewife’s mother-in-law, Jahanara Begum said, “For a long time, Farooq had been bothering my daughter-in-law in various ways and tempting her with money. Earlier, there was a local arbitration regarding this. But even after the arbitration, he did not stop, he kept making bad suggestions.

Confirming the incident, Bauphal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam said that upon receiving information about the fight between the two parties, the police quickly inspected the scene.

He said, “The situation is currently under control. If any written complaint is received from any party regarding this incident, the matter will be investigated seriously, and legal action will be taken.”
