The shirt worn by one of the two suspects arrested in the murder of Ganapati Chakraborty, a former teacher at Rangpur Zilla School, his wife and two children in Machuapara, Rangpur city, is being hotly debated on social media. A police officer was seen wearing a similar shirt on the day the body was recovered, raising questions about the matter.

In various videos circulating on social media, a police officer is seen climbing the stairs wearing the same shirt as the person while the body was being recovered. He had a mask on his face. In response to questions, the officer gave a strange answer to the media. He claimed that the same shirt can be worn by different people.

However, no answer has been found as to whether this is an extreme coincidence.

So far, law enforcement agencies have arrested two suspects, Siddharth and Mugdag, in the incident. Their home is also in Machhuapara. Police claim that they consumed Yaba in the building after the murder.

Police claim that one of the two arrested fled after sensing the law enforcement raid and hid in the nearby Mulberry Garden of the Silk Development Board. He was later arrested from the Dakhiganj crematorium next to Mulberry Garden.

Meanwhile, discussions are also underway on social media about the identities of the officers involved in the investigation.

The CID in-charge involved in the investigation into the four murders, the deputy commissioner who led the recovery of the bodies, and the investigation officer in the case are all Hindus. The two arrested suspects also follow the same religion.

However, police officials claim that this is a mere coincidence and that no one has been implicated in the investigation based on religious identity.

At a press conference on Saturday, the police commissioner claimed that during initial interrogation, the two arrested youths confessed to their involvement in the murder.

Police claim that during interrogation, Mughd and Siddharth bought Yaba from a drug dealer on Thursday night and consumed it at the house of a person named Simanta. Later, towards the end of the night, they went from the roof of the under-construction building of a person named Debu to the roof of Ganapati Chakraborty’s house. When they heard a noise while consuming Yaba, Ganapati Chakraborty came to the roof with a towel around his neck and naked body.

However, questions have also been raised about this statement by the police. Why did they jump from the three-story building under construction next door to the roof of Ganapati Chakraborty’s two-story house, even though there was a whole empty space and roof for consuming Yaba? This question was asked to the police commissioner at the press conference.

In response, the Police Commissioner said that he was satisfied with the progress made in the investigation of the case in a short time. At the same time, he called for praising the positive work of the police and criticizing the negative work. He also said to have faith in the investigation.

Meanwhile, the two arrested youths were produced in court around 5 pm on Sunday. They gave confessional statements under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court Judge Md. Rafiqul Islam. The matter was confirmed by Milan Chatterjee, the investigation officer of the case and Inspector (Investigation) of Kotwali Police Station.

He said the two young men confessed to the murder in court and gave statements. Since they confessed their guilt, there was no need to remand them.

Gopinath Chakraborty, the elder brother of Ganapati Chakraborty, who was killed in the incident, filed a murder case against unknown accused at Kotwali Police Station on Sunday.
