Buses, Trucks Set on Fire in Several Parts of Dhaka and Keraniganj

After Mirpur and Badda in the capital, a pickup truck caught fire in front of South Keraniganj Police Station in Dhaka.

A pickup truck that was impounded on the main road in front of the police station caught fire on Saturday (September 19) at around 9:30 pm. Inspector (Investigation) of South Keraniganj Police Station Asgar Ali confirmed the matter.

He said, “Someone set fire to a seized pickup truck around 9:30 pm. We are investigating the matter. Details will be announced later.”

A bus belonging to Shikar Paribahan caught fire in the capital’s Mirpur-11 area in the evening. At the same time, another bus belonging to Abijat Paribahan caught fire in the Mirpur-1 area and was extinguished by locals. No one was injured in either incident.

Earlier, several incidents of cocktail explosions occurred in Malibagh, Agargaon, Mohakhali, Babubazar, Moghbazar, Jatrabari, Rampura and New Market areas from Friday afternoon until late at night.

After these incidents, the DMP has strengthened special security arrangements across the city.
