Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a campaign titled ‘Let’s Remake July Graffiti’ on the Metrorail poles in Mirpur. The city will be decorated by painting July graffiti on the Metrorail poles in Mirpur with the participation of city residents, the Dhaka North City Corporation has said.

DNCC Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam inaugurated the program on Friday (October 9).

DNCC said that a campaign called ‘Let’s Remake July Graffiti’ has been launched to paint new July graffiti on the poles of the Mirpur Metrorail. The city residents have been urged to participate in it and the city corporation will provide the necessary materials including paints, brushes and other materials to the participants.

At the inauguration ceremony, the DNCC administrator said, “I had announced that day that the posters of Khambair on the Metrorail would be removed within 72 hours. By the infinite grace of God, we were able to do this within 72 hours with the help of our local leaders, especially the leaders of Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Jubo Dal.”

Later, I made another announcement, that we will replace the July graffiti on the metro poles so that those who died and contributed to the writing of Bangladesh’s history can always be given their place in the minds of people. That is why we are here today.

He said, Khaleda Zia is in the heart of all political parties and opposition parties. Her contribution behind the creation of this July is the greatest. Therefore, we have decided to attach her picture to the metro rail pole. We will paint pictures of those who led in July, including leaders of various political parties, including Chhatra Dal, on the pole through graffiti.

“We will not do politics about this. We will draw graffiti to record their contributions in the pages of history,” he said.
