“Peace Talks with Zelensky Not Possible,” Trump Says After Talks Collapse

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are not possible, following the breakdown of negotiations. In a recent tweet, Trump announced, “Peace talks with Zelensky are not feasible.”

Earlier today, a crucial meeting between Trump and Zelensky took place at the White House.

Regarding the meeting, Trump mentioned that the discussions revealed certain insights that would not have been possible to understand without direct dialogue amidst pressure and tension.

In his tweet, Trump said, “I am convinced that President Zelensky wants to remain close to America. However, he is not ready for peace because he believes our closeness gives him a significant advantage in negotiations. I do not want to be an advantage; I want peace.”

He further accused Zelensky of disrespecting the prestigious Oval Office meeting, stating, “He (Zelensky) can return when he is ready for peace.”

Prior to this, Trump told Fox News Radio’s “The Brian Kilmeade Show,” “I have been observing Zelensky negotiating for several years, but he has not been able to show any progress. I do not think he is someone significant enough to be present in peace talks.”

On the other hand, Zelensky rejected Trump’s immediate call for a ceasefire, stating, “The ongoing conflict with Moscow cannot be resolved with just some papers and signatures. We need a just and lasting peace that protects us from Russian threats.”

It is worth noting that since Donald Trump came to power, efforts to establish peace between Ukraine and Russia have gained new momentum, but differences between the two leaders remain.
