SAFF Championship Schedule Announced

The ‘SAFF Championship’, the battle for supremacy in South Asian football, is set to begin on November 5. The tournament, to be held in Dhaka, will see arch-rivals India and Pakistan face off on the opening day.

The hosts Bangladesh will face Bhutan in their first match on the same day. The hosts will take on Sri Lanka in their second and final match of the group stage on November 11. Bangladesh are paired with Bhutan and Sri Lanka in Group A. On the other hand, Pakistan and Maldives are in Group B with strong India. Nepal was not included in the initial schedule due to FIFA’s ban. However, the South Asian Football Federation (SAF) will announce a new schedule if the ban on Nepal is lifted before the start of the tournament.
After the group stage matches, two semi-finals will be held on November 14. The curtain will come down on this tournament with the final on November 17. All the matches of the competition will be held at the National Stadium in Dhaka.
