School Office Assistant Temporarily Suspended After Inappropriate Video With 10th-Grade Student Goes Viral

Jalilur Rahman (55), an office assistant and tutor at Kuakata Secondary School in Patuakhali, has been temporarily suspended after a video of him having physical relations with a 10th grade girl went viral on social media.

Following the complaint, authorities at Kuakata Secondary School investigated the matter and took action against him.

The school management committee suspended him on Friday morning, July 31. Earlier, when the video went viral on Thursday night, it created a huge stir in the area.

According to local sources, Jalilur Rahman, although an office assistant at the school, used to go to students’ homes to give private English lessons. At one point, he developed a relationship with the student and a video of their sexual intercourse went viral on social media.

Previously, there had been multiple allegations against him of various immoral activities with students.

Meanwhile, the accused office assistant had previously been accused of immoral behavior with students.

Several attempts were made to contact Jalilur Rahman on his mobile phone to get his statement on the matter, but his phone was switched off. He has since gone into hiding.

Kuakata Secondary School Management Committee President Zahirul Islam said that a four-member investigation committee was formed on Monday after news of unethical activities against Jalilur Rahman came to light. He was finally dismissed after receiving the report of the investigation committee.

He also said that the student was given a discharge certificate (TC) from the school about three months ago on specific charges of indiscipline.

In this regard, Mahipur Police Station OC Shamim Hawlader said, “No written complaint has been received in this incident so far. If a complaint is received, legal action will be taken after investigating.”
