Police have arrested a young man named Tausif Ahmed (22) from Chittagong city on charges of blackmailing by taking advantage of a love relationship by taking pictures and videos of intimate moments.

He was arrested from the Sadarghat police station area of ​​the city on Thursday, June 25th.

The arrested Tousif is the son of the late Abdul Hai of Abdul Hai Building, Tong Fakir Mazar Lane, West Madarbari, Sadarghat.

According to local sources, Tausif is involved in the politics of the local student camp. He was also seen actively participating in the camp’s training workshop held in the presence of Fazle Elahi Shaheen, the Jamaat-nominated councilor candidate for Ward 29 in Chittagong city.

According to the case report and police sources, after meeting the victim, Tausif began a love affair with her by promising her marriage. At one point, he had physical relations with her several times, tempting her to marry him. However, the deception did not end there; Tausif kept recording several objectionable pictures and videos without the victim’s knowledge.

After a few days of the relationship, Tausif took on his true form. He had been mentally torturing the victim for a long time by threatening to spread the secret pictures and videos on social media. At one point, the woman, helpless, decided to take legal action.

On June 24, the victim filed a case with Sadarghat Police Station under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act. Sadarghat Police Station became active immediately after the case was filed.

The accused, Tausif, was arrested in a special operation on Thursday, June 25. Sadarghat police said that after the arrest, the accused has been sent to court after completing the legal process. The police are investigating whether there is any other motive behind the incident or if anyone else is involved.
