US President Donald Trump has called on the Ukrainian people to remove their President Volodymyr Zelensky and choose a new leader, while also strongly criticizing Ukraine’s attack on a Russian oil refinery.

Trump made these remarks while speaking to reporters at the White House on Saturday, October 10th.

A day earlier, he announced a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin on diesel supplies, a deal that Zelensky sharply criticized.

Trump said, “I think it’s time for Ukraine to have a new president.”

Trump has alleged that the supply of diesel on the global market is being disrupted by Ukraine’s attack on a Russian refinery.

He said, “Zelensky wants to create problems for our farmers and ranchers with diesel. Because Russia supplies a large part of diesel to the whole world.”

Trump also said, “I told him, ‘Do whatever you want. Don’t attack the refinery. There are many targets to attack. Don’t attack the refinery.’ But he went and attacked. He must stop it.”

Criticizing Zelensky, Trump said, “I suggest a new leader who can make a deal. Because he could make a lot of deals, but for some reason he never does.”
