1.2 Million Taka Robbed from Bank Agent in Broad Daylight in Noakhali: Abducted at Gunpoint and Handcuffed Select 76 more words to run Humanizer.

Miscreants posing as DB police officers blocked the path of a bank agent in broad daylight and robbed him of Tk 1.2 million at gunpoint. The incident took place on Monday, August 30, between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm in front of M Majidiya Government Primary School in Charhazari Union of Companiganj Upazila of Noakhali.

The victim bank agent’s name is Abdur Rahman. He is the in-charge of Islami Bank’s ‘Abu Madina Outlet Agent Branch’ and an outlet trader.

Eyewitnesses and family sources of the victim said that Abdur Rahman was on his way to his destination on a motorcycle after withdrawing 1.2 million taka from a bank branch in the morning. When he reached the west side of M Majidiya Government Primary School in Ward No. 1 of Charhazari, a white/black private car parked in front of him stopped him. An armed group of 5 people got out of the car and stopped Abdur Rahman by introducing themselves as members of the Detective Branch (DB).

According to the complaint, the miscreants suddenly pointed a pistol at him, claiming that he had ‘drugs’. Before he could understand anything, they put handcuffs on his hands and forcibly took him to a private car. After taking him to the car, they blindfolded him with a towel and started beating him severely and snatched away the 1.2 million taka cash he had with him. Later, the miscreants threw him out of the moving car while blindfolded and handcuffed in a secluded place in the area called ‘Nabir Shop’ of Kabirhat Upazila and fled.

Local residents said that Abdur Rahman, who was wearing a white Punjabi, was surrounded by five men in plain clothes and a black jacket and forced into a car at gunpoint. Later, they learned that he had been robbed.
