Bangladesh have climbed to their highest ever Test rankings after winning the series 2-0 against Pakistan in Sylhet. They are now at number seven in the table.

With these two wins, the Tigers have moved up from ninth to seventh with 78 points. Bangladesh’s previous best position was eighth, which came in 2018.

Meanwhile, with this great victory, Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s team has also risen to fifth place in the ICC World Test Championship points table.

This is Bangladesh’s first series win against Pakistan at home, and their second consecutive whitewash against their Asian opponents, after a 2-0 win on Pakistani soil in 2024.

After this victory, Bangladesh has moved up to fifth place in the World Test Championship table with 58.33 percent points, leaving India behind, who have slipped to sixth place.

When Bangladesh started the Test series, they had 16.67 percent points and were ranked eighth. However, with these two wins, they have surpassed Pakistan, England and India. After four matches, Bangladesh’s total points are now 28.
On the other hand, Pakistan is at number eight in the list with 8.33 percent points after this loss.
