Awami League Is Not Our Enemy but Our Ally; We Fought Together, Says MP Nasir Chowdhury

Sunamganj-2 (Dirai-Shalla) constituency MP Nasir Chowdhury said, “Awami League is not our enemy, they are our allies. We fought together. Awami League will soon merge with BNP.”

He made these comments while speaking as the chief guest at the July rally organized by Dirai Upazila BNP on Wednesday, August 6.

At the rally, Nasir Chowdhury said, “Today’s rally is the main rally of BNP. There is no other rally of BNP besides this one. Those who want to hold a separate rally in the name of BNP on August 8th basically want to create division in the party. Everyone should be careful about them.”

Protesting against various propaganda against him, he said, “I have no brother, I am alone. Even my house has been taken away. Those who are not getting the opportunity to steal and corrupt by tarnishing the party’s name are the ones spreading false propaganda against me. They say that I have looted lakhs of taka.”

He challenged those who make such allegations to first find out how much money has actually been allocated. If necessary, they should collect information from the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).

Referring to his strict stance on corruption, he said, “As long as I live, I will not give anyone a chance to commit any kind of corruption.”

It is worth noting that in the 13th national election, this senior BNP leader and liberation war organizer Nasir Uddin Chowdhury defeated Jamaat candidate and Razakarputra Shishir Monir by a huge margin.
