Chhatra League Central Vice-President Pial Arrested

Police have arrested Ehsan Ullah Piyal (32), vice-president of the central executive council of Bangladesh Chhatra League.

Police arrested him in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act in Belabo, Narsingdi.

He was arrested from the area adjacent to Sonali Bank in Belabo Bazar on Sunday (August 23) morning.

The arrested Ehsan Ullah Piyal is the son of the late Zahirul Haque (alias Ullah) and Mosa. Khadija Begum of Nilakshia Namapara village of Sallabad union of Belabo upazila of Narsingdi district.

According to police sources, Piyal has been arrested in case number 16 filed at Belabo Police Station on February 10, 2025. The case was registered under sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009 (Amendment 2013).

Belabo Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Amanullah confirmed the matter and said that Piyal has been arrested in a specific case. He will be handed over to the learned court at the appointed time after the legal process is completed.
