Jubo Dal Secretary Accused of Taking Young Woman From Hospital After Drugging and Gang Rape

A serious allegation has been made of gang-raping a young woman (21) in Kuada Bazar of Jessore Sadar Upazila by giving her a sedative along with a drink. Later, there have been allegations that the young woman was secretly removed from the hospital to cover up the incident and that her family was threatened.

Based on the complaint, it is known that the victim is the daughter of Hafizur Rahman of Tuniaghara village in Monirampur upazila. She was in a love relationship with Dalim Hossain (35), general secretary of Ramnagar Union Jubo Dal.

On the evening of August 25, Dalim called her to a restaurant in Kuada Bazar. She lost consciousness shortly after being given a liquid drink. When she regained consciousness around 11 pm, she found herself naked and realized that she had been gang-raped and molested.

At that time, the accused also threatened to spread objectionable photos and videos on social media if anyone told anyone about the incident.

The other defendants named in the complaint are Joy (24), Mehdi (30), Rabiul (35) and Golam (27).

It is learned that the young woman was admitted to Jessore Sadar Hospital in a serious condition on August 28 after the incident. However, fearing that the information would be revealed to the media, she was forcibly taken to a house in Khulna for treatment on the morning of August 29 without obtaining the required release.

There are allegations that the police have been hesitant to take effective action so far because the main accused is politically influential.

The victim’s family is afraid to speak out publicly due to intense security concerns. Even the cell phone number of the young woman mentioned in the complaint is currently switched off.

Attempts were made to contact the victim’s father, Hafizur Rahman, and the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Model Police Station on their mobile phones several times to get their statements about the incident, but no one could be reached.

Meanwhile, locals have demanded the immediate arrest of the criminals involved in such atrocities and gang rape of a young woman and the safety of the victim’s family.
