July Memorial Pillar Burned in Habiganj

An arson attack took place at the July Pillar in Habiganj city at midnight.

On the night of Saturday, November 7, unidentified persons set fire to the pillar located next to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Several parts of the lower part of the pillar were damaged. Later, the fire was brought under control with the efforts of some people in the area.

It is learned that a fire suddenly broke out at the July Pillar late on Saturday night. The lower part of the pillar was burnt in the fire. However, there was no major damage.

The incident has created a sensation across the city. It is not known who started the fire.

Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officers and senior administration officials visited the scene. They are investigating the matter to identify the cause of the fire and those involved in the incident.

In this regard, Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zahidul Haque said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. Legal action will be taken after investigating and identifying the people involved.
