Former minister Latif Siddiqui has been arrested. He was arrested from Gulshan in the capital on Wednesday (July 29). He was arrested in a case filed at the International Crimes Tribunal in connection with the Shapla Chattar incident.
DB Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed this information.

Abdul Latif Siddiqui told reporters after appearing before the CMM court in the Shahbagh Police Station Anti-Terrorism Act case on Wednesday that he will surrender to the tribunal by next Sunday or Monday if the police do not arrest him in the case of ‘murder and crimes against humanity’ surrounding the Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Square.
