Police have arrested Md. Borhan Uddin (31), the principal of a madrasa in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur, on charges of raping a 12-year-old student.

On Sunday afternoon, September 13, Bhedarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Basar confirmed the matter.

Earlier on Friday, the child’s father filed a case with the Bhedarganj police station in this incident. The accused has been handed over to the court.

Police said that the teacher, with the intention of raping the victim, a madrasa student, would take her to his room at night and during the day, threatening her with a jinn, and then rape her.

The victim’s family filed a case with the Bhedarganj Police Station in this incident. Later, based on a secret tip-off, the police conducted a raid and arrested the accused in the case, teacher Borhan Uddin.

Borhan Uddin is a resident of Kotalipara police station in Gopalganj and was currently serving as the headmaster of a Noorani Hafiziya Madrasa in the Kaichkuri area of ​​Bhedarganj upazila.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhederganj Police Station said, “A case has been registered regarding the rape of a madrasa student. We have arrested the accused teacher and sent him to court. The case is under investigation.”
