– Anand Kutum
I have been living in Dhaka for over sixteen years. I still don’t know where and how many liquor shops there are in Dhaka (although I have been to a bar in Gulshan with my colleagues a few times. It doesn’t seem very sophisticated). I don’t know where and how many brothels there are. I don’t know in which area, in which park or on which overbridge the prostitutes sit and display their wares. I don’t know who sells pot and who sells dry goods in my area. I have never needed to know these things. Without knowing these things, I am on my way to adulthood, passing through adolescence, youth, and adulthood. However, Polapine, who has just passed intermediate, gets admitted to Dhaka University and knows the overbridge of Paribagh before he knows the library. The Chipachapa of Ramna Park and the shops of the ganja suppliers in Suhrawardy Udyan. Dhaka University has such a good reputation.
What AB Zubair did yesterday is the reality of most university going students. No love, no girlfriend, no place to share emotions, no friends to talk openly about political gimmicks. The last hope is those prostitutes.
Even if AB Zubair’s personality is starving for his entire life, no girl will look back at him. A boy with an ugly appearance (although his appearance is a gift from God. We shouldn’t talk about it), teeth like spades, just looking at him, it seems like dirt will come off if you rub his body. His attitude is like that of a terrorist. He will beat this guy, catch him, go after him for political purposes, what girl will give her body or mind to such a chaotic boy? Who will love him? One who has no minimum sense of courtesy, no personal grooming, no civilized behavior. His last hope is necessarily the hijra on the over bridge.
Seeing this incident of AB Zubair last night, I felt more pity for him than hatred. Human life is a waste. I don’t have a partner to share sex with. I didn’t even get a girl, I had to go to the hijras. If a hijra/boy is his preference, I have no objection. But my question is, won’t they make the hijra work and pay him? I mean, how can they be so scoundrels of this level?
There is a dialogue in Jamaat Shibir – “The most polite boy in the area goes to Shibir”. This is an example of that polite boy. The most polite of the polite ones who are also student leaders in places like Dhaka University. The cream of the cream of Shibir.
Before you send your child to camp, at least teach them some personal grooming. Then maybe you won’t have to go to the camp in a hurry.
Come on, let’s do a postmortem on AB Zubair’s status.
He claims that a friend of his took him with him to interview transgender people. He reported it to the police station before leaving.
The question here is…
1. Which police station? Who was informed? How was he informed? Where is the proof?
2. Which journalist friend? Which house does he work for? Who is the editor? Who gave him this assignment? Where is the proof of the assignment? Or did he go on his own initiative without an assignment to do this report?
3. The work boundary of both DU student leaders and journalists is within the Dhaka University area. Paribagh Over Bridge is not in DU area. Why would AB Zubair go there to report? What is the reason? Zubair’s friend means it is very natural that he is also a university-centric journalist. Why did they go outside the university area to report?
And the most important point is…
Who gave them permission to conduct interviews in such a risk zone at midnight? No one else in the world does journalism?
What happens in these cases? What happens in these cases is that first the subject is contacted through the source. Then they are interviewed at a time and place convenient to the subject. But instead of doing that, going directly to the place where they are providing services in the middle of the night and starting to interview them without taking their permission is what level of journalism is this? Who taught AB Zubair this journalism? I would like to see that scholar.
The point is, the explanation given by AB Zubair is completely false. When he had physical relations with the hijras and did not pay them, the hijras made a video and spread it. Now he is telling us a fabricated story. There is a hidden danger for him within his story. You can see it if you look closely.
That old saying. The best boy in the area goes to camp. This is the example of a good boy.
The Jamaat has many schools, colleges, hospitals, garments, etc. Now let’s build a brothel. At least then their people won’t be exposed like this while having sex on the streets, in hotels, and on buses. Building a brothel for the Jamaat is the demand of the hour.
