A Milad Mahfil and condolence meeting was held in Berlin, Germany, with deep solemnity and humble respect, in memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the grenade attacks on August 15 and 21.

The program was organized by the Berlin Awami League at an auditorium in Berlin on Sunday, August 23 at 6 pm local time.

Sheikh Hasina, the president of Bangladesh Awami League and daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, joined the condolence meeting as the chief guest and delivered an important speech via virtual medium.

At the beginning of the program, a special Milad and Doa Mahfil were conducted to pray for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs of August 15 and August 21. After that, the discussion meeting was attended by expatriate Bengalis living in Berlin and people from all walks of life.

The speakers at the condolence meeting recalled with deep respect and gratitude the noble life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his unique and extraordinary contribution to the independence of Bangladesh, and the great sacrifice of his family members.

The speakers said that the main commitment of all expatriate Bengalis on this day of mourning is to build a prosperous Bangladesh inspired by the ideals and spirit of Bangabandhu.
