Awami League Leader Dalia Slaughtered in Her Own Flat in Keraniganj

Police have recovered the slit-throated body of a female Awami League leader named Mosamat Dalia Akhter Suma (50) from her flat in South Keraniganj, Dhaka.

The body was recovered from his flat on the third floor of Monowara Plaza Market in Rasulpur area of ​​Basta Union at around 10 am today, Friday, October 23.

The deceased Dalia Akhter Suma was the president of Basta Union Jubo Mohila League and a member of Dhaka District South Jubo Mohila League. She was also working as a part-time teacher at Baghapur Char Government Primary School.

However, about three months ago, he was forced to quit his job as a victim of political vendetta.

According to local sources, Dalia Akhtar’s body was lying on the floor of the flat. Blood was splattered on the floor of the house. Local residents said that footprints were also seen there.

The incident has created a sensation in the area. However, it is not yet confirmed who killed him and for what reason.

According to police sources, Dalia lived in the flat with her two daughters Nodi and Liza after divorcing her husband Liaqat Ali about 12 years ago. She bought the flat herself. She currently lives there alone as her two daughters are married.

Police went to the scene on Friday morning after receiving information from locals and recovered the body.

The deceased’s younger daughter, Liza, said, “What crime did my mother commit that she was brutally murdered like this? I demand the government to punish those who killed my mother to the fullest extent.”

Keraniganj Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Jalimul Haque said, “We quickly reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. Members of the CID’s Crime Scene Unit are arriving at the spot. An investigation is underway to find out who killed him in the empty house.”

He also said that efforts will be made to find out whether the deceased had any dispute with anyone by talking to his children. An investigation is underway to uncover the cause of the murder and identify those involved.
