Another murder incident has taken place in Khulna. Miscreants hacked to death a businessman named Sabuj Khan (55) in the Khalishpur area of ​​the city.

The tragic incident took place in the Khalishpur Housing Bazar area around 10:30 am on Thursday. This is the fourth murder in Khulna in just nine days of this October.

The deceased, Sabuj Khan, was a resident of Bakkar Colony area of ​​Housing Bazaar under Khalishpur police station.

Khalishpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Atahar Ali said that some of his neighbors attacked him with sharp weapons due to a previous enmity while he was standing near the market in the morning. Locals rescued him in a seriously injured condition and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The OC also said that Sabuj Khan had sharp weapon injury marks on his hands, knees and various parts of his body. The body of the deceased has been sent to the morgue of Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

He said the police have launched an operation to identify and arrest those involved.

A series of murders in Khulna over the past 9 days have raised concerns among the city’s residents. Earlier, on October 6, a young man named Imran Munshi was shot dead with a pistol to the head. Even earlier, on the night of October 2, Liton Khan was strangled and slit by his son in Basupara Banshtala after he failed to get money for drugs.

On the other hand, another young man was shot dead while sleeping in his house in the Maheshwarpasha Paschimpara Bazar area of ​​Daulatpur late on the night of October 1.

A series of murders have spread panic in Khulna city. Police say that investigations are underway into each incident and the culprits will be brought to justice quickly.
