Female Dhaka University Student Allegedly Harassed at Jubo Dal Anniversary Rally

A female student of Dhaka University (DU) has been accused of assaulting a Juba Dal (Youth Party) anniversary rally. The victim, Fahmida Alam, was a candidate for the post of Liberation War Secretary in the DUCSU elections.

Fahmida made the allegation in a post on social media on Tuesday (October 27).

In a post in English, Fahmida wrote, ‘Shame! Is this your plan, Tarique Rahman?’

Describing the incident, he said that on his way to the office, a rally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal disrupted traffic on the road. He alleged that a person participating in the rally in front of the National Parliament building physically assaulted her.

The statement of BNP, Jubo Dal or Chhatra Dal regarding Fahmida’s allegations was not immediately known.
