Five Injured as Armed Robbers Raid Businessman’s Home in Noakhali Late at Night

A brutal robbery took place late at night at the house of a businessman in Sadar Upazila of Noakhali. Five members of the same family were injured in the beating by the robbers.

At that time, the robbers looted cash and gold ornaments.

On Thursday afternoon, July 30, Sub-Inspector (SI) Saima Sultana, the duty officer of Sudharam Model Police Station, confirmed the matter.

Earlier, the incident took place at around 3:15 am on Wednesday at the house of Taju Mia in Sreepur village, Ward No. 7 of Noakhali Municipality.

According to police and local sources, a group of robbers broke the lock of the main gate of a house at around 3:15 am on Wednesday. Later, they opened the door of Sonapur businessman Mofazzal Hossain Farhad’s house through a crack and entered the house. Then, they beat up the family members and tied their hands and faces.

Later, they looted 5 to 6 lakh taka in cash and 2.5 to 3 bhari worth of gold ornaments from the house and fled. After receiving information about the incident, the police visited the spot at night.

SI Saima Sultana further said that the incident is being investigated based on the complaint of the victim’s family. Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.
